Claude SDK for Ruby

The Claude SDK for Ruby provides access to the Claude API from Ruby applications.

Installation

Add to your application's Gemfile:

gem "anthropic", "~> 1.28.0"

Getting started

require "bundler/setup"
require "anthropic"

anthropic = Anthropic::Client.new(
  api_key: ENV["ANTHROPIC_API_KEY"] # This is the default and can be omitted
)

message = anthropic.messages.create(
  max_tokens: 1024,
  messages: [{role: "user", content: "Hello, Claude"}],
  model: "claude-opus-4-6"
)

puts(message.content)
